In fact, no.  What this will do is place S95 scripts in rc3.d and rc5.d
and K80 scripts in the other directories.  The purpose of the S and K
scripts in any runlevel directory is to start the services that should
be run at that level and stop those that should not be run at that
level.  John's script is supposed to be run in levels 3 and 5 so there
are no K scripts for it in those directories.  If he switches to one of
the other runlevels, however, the service will be stopped.
