Typo on my part I'm afraid   !

I was referring to /etc/hosts

There is no such file as /etc/hosts.conf on any of my systems

Maybe other versions of linux have it


By the way, the rants concerning disclaimers at the end of emails are
pointless  - Company policy dictates and I am using the company system to
send the emails.
