I read Shared Data Clusters
(http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/047118070X/104-5464625-1195952?v=glance)
which had a very nice section on SMP architectures. If you do a search
in Amazon for Data Clusters you'll get a load of hits with some very
interesting looking titles including a few Linux specific ones.

I've been running linux on SMP architectures for a couple of years now
and it just works. Gkrellm does a nice job of monitoring the load as
does top.

I want a 4 way Opteron next in the vain hope that it will launch firefox
a bit quicker ;-)

cheers,
neil
