Have you tried emailing the ubuntu users mailing list? It's heavy
trafffic, so if you don't want to, do you mind if I forward this email
to it?
I've just scanned the list for kernel panic and not found anything too
specific - but whenever the kernel is involved, the first piece of
advice is to make sure the kernel is up to date. If you're using Warty
Warthog (ubuntu preview 4.10) try the latest snapshot (Sounder 9) or
one of the dailies - both of which are more recent.
