As a man who has burnt a lot of CDs in his time (!!) I second this.  Buy
quality CD-Rs (Taiyo Yuden are the best) and burn them at a slow speed
(max 8x) if you want reliability.

When you're buying CD-Rs 10,000 at a time you really notice even a 1%
failure rate.
