Does this shutdown now also preserve data integrity?
Following their overheating problems (see previous email) AMD set new guidelines for all motherboard
manufacturers. They were to be integrated with a special electronic
switching mechanism to protect the CPU from overheating.
The good news about this solution was that it guaranteed that the CPU
would survive; the bad news was that data safety was no longer
guaranteed. The PC was not shut down properly, instead it was
switched off quite abruptly.
