[Gllug] Upgrading a PC in situ

Hi John 

I did an almost identical upgrade before I left SA. Duron 1GHz to
Athlon64 2800, rage128pro to R9600pro, double the Ram to 512MB.
Upgraded the powersupply from 250watt to 350watt.
And yes I have a very happy younger brother back home.<g>

Ther might be some issues with heat, but then I have the whole lot in
an old PII full tower case. I've never had any porblems but my brother
complained - reckon he was playing computer games for hours and hours
in a South Africa summer i.e 25+C ambient temperature.

I started fiddling with a 120mm and a 80mm fan before I left but I had
more important things to do preparing to head off to the UK. It had
Mandrake 10.1 on it before and did not require reinstalling kernels,
modules or anything else. I did have to point xmms to the new sound
driver though.
