As of GCC 4.1, this will have merged with a (portable) re-implementation
of ProPolice; -fstack-protector, -fstack-protector-all and
-Wstack-protector will be supported for runtime stack-smash checking.
(But that's runtime, not compile-time, which isn't what was asked for.)
