I read a few years back about a cd repair tool invented by a guy who
worked for Nasa. It worked by insering the cd into this tool and
spinning it at high speed, and the cleaning agent was distilled water,
if I remember correctly. It got a great revue in the Sunday Times,
apparently able to restore anything. PC world used to sell them for
about £30, but I'm not sure if they still do. I meant to buy one as my
kids are able to trash cd's by just looking at them. I completely forgot
about this tool until I read this thread.
