At my last job I was in ACTS, which merged with the TGWU.  I didn't pick
them for any IT specialism, though; the rest of the IT department were
all in it and I trusted their shop steward.  So it was what the local
union offered, rather than the national union, that mattered to me.  I'm
still paying the dues after having moved on but I'm looking around to
see if there is something more suitable.
