[Gllug] RH 8.0 Sound

MPU 401 UART is for midi.  Not your problem. 
 
Whats the sound card ? 
 
What does your dmesg and lsmod output look like ? 
 
Try cat'ting a wav file to /dev/dsp see of you hear anything ( sound prob 
distorted ) but any sound is good.
