Quite so. God that bundled compiler is useless. Even the nonbundled
ISO C compiler is nasty, but the unbundled one, ick. It sometimes has
problems with simple if statemeents.

(It won't be suitable for GCC building as of GCC 4: the last remaining
die-hard testers of that case gave up on it, and we switched the back-,
middle-, and C front-end codebases to ISO C with glee.)
