[Gllug] RH 8.0 Sound

Dear GLLUGers,

I'm running RH 8.0 with a 2.4.20 kernel and can't get the
sound to work.  I'm currently trying OSS 3.99.  Just
silence.  The only hint of something wrong is the fact that
when the system loads a module called uart401, I get the
following line in /var/log/messages.

oss: Probing the hardware for MPU-401 (UART) failed

Can anyone help with this?
