That's really for glibc/Linux crosses, though; while you can use it for
bareboard systems, and some work's been done on Cygwin crosses, I'm not
sure if it works for things which don't use glibc or newlib.
(Particularly Darwin: note that mainline GCC doesn't support things like
Apple's -F option --- although that one *is* on the integration
branch. Other Apple-specific options, like -fpascal-strings, have
already been rejected for mainline.)
