Traditionally, the low end of the market has used HP's PCL and the
high end has used PostScript. PCL has been improving, though and is
creeping upwards. Conversely, with Adobe relaxing their licensing
restrictions (and reducing the licensing cost), PostScript is moving
downwards, and can now be found in lower end printers. The high end
is still dominated by PostScript, though, and it's hard to see this
changing any time soon.
