afaik the huygens lander was only designed to operate for 3hrs on the
surface

it had to have a hefty transmitter to cut thru the atmosphere.
it is well and truly offline now as 3hrs of transmission will have
drained the batteries fully,

the mars landers have solar panels to draw power, i doubt there is much
useful light for solar cells on huygen's big rock :-)
