They just slot into the socket. No new motherboard needed.

I think some motherboards need a BIOS update.
We haven't done any upgrades as yet - just new systems.
As usual, check with the manufacturers, YMMV, yada yada.

Yes, I just cat'ed /proc/cpuinfo on the earlier email.
