Perhaps some more reading on what Wake-On-LAN means and what is
typical power consumption looks like in the various power saving
modes (standby/suspend/sleep/soft power off/...) might be useful
here. :-)

However, the main message to convey is that on _recent_ systems
suitably chosen (e.g. with desktop CPUs that support frequency
scaling), low power modes are low power enough, if the system is
carefully configured, that Wake-On-LAN is not really an issue.
