Why?

My printers work. I don't need anything.

I am quite happy to help people who are less capable of using a system
or have some problem or other with it but Mr. Pownall didn't give us
'not enough' information, he gave us none.

If he wants his printer to work it makes sense to give as much relevant
information as he can. Why should I spend my time crafting an email to
prompt for the details and then spend even more time crafting an email
with a solution?

Especially as, in this case, we were informed of failed attempts. How
am I to know the advice I give doesn't tell him to do exactly what has
previously failed?

Matthew

I must take issue with the term "a mere child," for it has been my
invariable experience that the company of a mere child is infinitely
preferable to that of a mere adult.
