Indeed.
If the Ethernet switch is manageable, you should be able to do an snmp
query and get the MAC address registered on the port it is plugged into.

Sorry - that's what I meant.
But I still say get a technician to put a cable in its serial port
and get a Minicom session running.
Have had to do similar with network switches/RAID arrays/power
controllers in the past.
