Ahah, the motorola 68k - there was a nice processor. 32 bits, none of the
nasty segmentation that you have with the 8086/80286. 32 bits from the program/application
point of view always even in the various models that were 8/16/32 bits from the hardware
point of view.
One thing that was against it was that it did not have a standard MMU (different vendors
used different ones).
The kill was when IBM chose the inferior intel for it's PC - as it was cheaper.
