Very true.
ntop has some nice graphs but not the same standard as mrtg. I've always
found mrtg a bit of a PITA to setup though.. but I haven't done it
enough to give a fair opinion.
You could use Nagios for monitoring bandwidth through SNMP, but ntop is
a nice quick out of the box solution
