I'd not heard of it either, but it is on my desktop here (Ubuntu) with a man
page stating it's from OpenSSH and dated 14 November 1999!  Seems quite
useful:

ssh-copy-id -i ~/.ssh/id_dsa.pub me at remote.machine

That will append the identity file to the authorized keys file on the remote
host.
