I have just set up a Speedtouch 330 issue 4 with a box running the latest
IPCop. The IPCop administration instructions were to download the driver to
(the home directory of) your PC, then upload it to the IPCop box. The upload
is done by logging on to its web page from your home directory and
instructing the box to collect it. The driver name for issues 1-3 was shown
in the box to be uploaded, despite the fact that it was an issue 4 and
required the later driver. When the correct (later) driver was uploaded the
name shown was still that of the earlier driver, but it did all work.

Your packet loss could be a result of collisions within your network
causing the interfaces to back off. It may help if you use a faster network
switch, perhaps even a more expensive 10/100/1000 switch. Some boxes are
advertised as store-and-forward switches, but I am not convinced that they
are all as fast as you would expect.
