Dave Cross will kill me for saying this, but you can install and learn
template toolkit very easily just by reading the manual. Install
using, eg.,

  sudo apt-get install libtemplate-perl{,-doc}

then read the manual pages:

  man ttree
  man Template

'ttree' is the static front-end - good for generating static web
pages. It's unlucky you didn't ask me about this yesterday, because I
used to have a nice little Makefile set up for generating static
websites using ttree, but it's on my old computer which is being
dismantled and rebuilt at the moment.
