Hi Diana

We are going to try installing bit by bit in succession:

1.Download this:
ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/suse/i386/9.1/suse/i586/compat-2004.4.2-3.i586.rpm

*Right click and install it with Yast

2.Download this:
ftp://download.canon.jp/pub/driver/bj/linux/bjfilter-common-2.50-2.i386.rpm

*Right click and install it with Yast

3.Download this:
ftp://download.canon.jp/pub/driver/bj/linux/bjfilter860-1.3-1.i386.rpm
*Right click and install it with Yast

4.
Open Yast-Hardware-Printer

In Printer Configuration:
- Highlight your Printer
- Click Edit

In Configuration
- Highlight your printer model
- Click Edit

Under printer model
- Highlight Canon
- Choose your model
(it may show up as 860 instead of MP860)

5.
Reboot

Open your favourite Linux Word Processor

Type in Huge + Colourful letters:

"If anyone can ..
Canon can -
be very Linux Unfriendly"

Click Print
and cross your fingers.
