I wrote a small 'C' program yonks ago for use on a SCO Unix system which
presents a user prompt, waits for a Y or N response and returns an exit value
depending on the response.  It also times-out if no response received within
a certain time.   I will email you the sourec separately; it is very small and
should compile cleanly I think on linux!
