1. Don't install executables from untrusted sources.
2. Don't run anything as root that you don't have to. If someone tells
you you have to, get a second opinion.
3. Use a firewall.
4. Check for security updates for your OS version, and get them!
5. Don't download plugins for your browser.
6. Anything involving dd of=/dev/hd? is to be avoided.
