I don't know what part of S.E. London you're in, but the stink from that 
plant in New Cross sometimes reaches us here in Muswell Hill (if the 
wind's in the wrong direction).  Burning rubbish is a fine idea, but the 
plants must take steps to prevent spreading their stench and other nasty 
by-products!
