That's funny. I'm pretty sure I've run the IT department in larger
businesses than you have, and I haven't had to use perl for many,
many years. To say that it's a required tool is demonstrably wrong.

You may believe it's a better tool than those I choose to use, and I
may disagree. That's a matter of personal opinion. But perl certainly
isn't *required* for sysadmin work.
