OK - so we know the following now...

*Your wireless interface is known as eth1

*Your wireless network is called 'safe'

*It isn't configured to use any WEP security currently.

So I think you need to do the following:

Get a root shell like we discussed previously (sudo -s)

Enter the following command to get an IP address

dhclient eth1

This should send out a request for an IP address from your ADSL router
(assuming the router is configured to issue addresses via DHCP)

When dhclient has run you should be able to do a 'ifconfig eth1' and
see that your wireless interface has an IP address. There's a good
chance that this is all you'll have to do and you'll have enough
routing and DNS information to get yourself on the network correctly

Cool, when troubleshooting technical problems it's always handy to
know the exact make and model of the kit you're dealing with so I was
after the model number etc. No matter - I think the information above
will get you going.
