You were using an e-mail address on a public mailing address and
expected it to remain pristine? Even if none of your messages ever end
up being quoted without obfustication (which is bound to happen
eventually), given that a lot of spam is now generated by "zombie"
hosts, your address could be harvested from the hard disk of one of the
list subscribers.
Not that the e-mail obfustication on the list archives is very hard to
mine.
