Been there, done that. It gets more tricky when they also transparently
proxy outbound port 80 connections, as that tends to restrict the
protocol to HTTP as well as restricting the port. It's still possible,
by tunnelling over http (using httptunnel or similar), but you wouldn't
want to do any serious work like that. Still, it can be useful for
checking that important bit of data that you forgot to bring with you
when visiting a client site.
