:-) Actually HT has some quite decent performance characteristics for
general purpose use. For certain specialist applications (large scale
number crunching being the prime example), it turns out to be a win
to disable HT, but for general desktop use, it's quite nice. I'll get
a proper SMP setup when I can justify it. For now, my machine is quite
fast enough (to run non-OO.o applications, that is :-)
