[Gllug] is KMAIL a good enough client for gllug?

Actually on Thunderbird it is an option you can select though only if
you want to alter the default of "start my reply below the quote".
The setting can be found in Account Settings -> Composition and Address.
If you have multiple accounts you will need to set this for each account.
