[Gllug] Large scale batch printing setup

Hi

I have a client that wants to bring the printing of their mail shots in
house. They require a system that takes a csv list of client details and
produces a personalised covering letter, two certificates and an address
label. The Covering letter and the certificate will be on pre-printed
paper stock. Ideally all the documents should be batched together.
Volumes are currently expected to be 600 clients a day with a top end of
about double that. Ease of use and reliability are key.

My question is does anyone here have any experience in setting up
something along these lines and if so any pointers or gotchas to look
out for.

Recommendation for reliable serviced printers that are well supported by
Linux would be welcomed.

I'm leaning towards getting the client to produce all documents in PDF
format so I can easily manipulate the output.

Thanks

Simon

P.S If you or your company specialises in this kind of work I maybe
interested in outsourcing this project. Please contact me off list.
