Yes, although I failed to find a definitive guide on how to determine
which wire was A and which wire was B (in the case that you decide to
irritate BT by wiring your own master socket).

I don't know either, but it seemed to work both ways when I tried it
recently. Documents I found suggested that polarity no longer mattered,
but I didn't consider them to be authoritative enough to be sure.
