I take it that you are talking about your own private network at home ?
Well I'd go along with that but I would add that the same is true for a
network upon which a business must rely. I chose sendmail simply because
there is more written about that particular delivery system than any other
under Linux. It is, if you like, the industry standard for Linux servers -
stands to reason, therefore, that unless you are likely to "bump up against"
it's
limitations that it would be right to start there. There's more help
available.
I haven't built a system for customers that demand much more than simple
delivery
Why do you use your ISP as a smart host though, it's fairly simple to make
your own server deliver the traffic, though I have to admit I nearly always
use the ISP's
hostbecause it's just easier isn't it !
