Verizon are the ISP who once blocked mail from most of the world outside
the US, not by rejecting it but by firewalling. Rather like AOL, they
appear to specialise in overzealous and ill advised spam "prevention"
tactics while at the same time being responsible for much of it.
They have backed down a bit on their firewalling but last time I checked
(not very long ago) I still couldn't send to them direct from this
static Demon address, and have to route mail to Verizon via Demon's
smart host. Initially this was blocked too. Unfortunately I have a
friend in New York who uses Verizon (I have suggested that he change) so
I need to be able to send them mail.
I would not expect such a company to pay a lot of attention to a genuine
abuse compaint.
Regards, Ian
