PC Pro has a review of a £300 "4-DIMM" hardware ram-disk.

They tested it by putting their win* install on it.

HUH???

no mention of:

NFS write cache

EXT3 journal

Database journal

...

Plus they tested it for "read-throughput", comparing it to
read-throughput of a 15k RPM hard-drive, one over PCI, the other
connected to the mobo chipset.

Anyway, that's why I read someone else's copy of PC-Pro...
