[Gllug] CUPS serving postscript printers to linux

We use a linux print server at work, and it's set up to serve all the
printers as postscript; all the clients need is a postscript driver and
the right ppd file.

KDE never asks me for a ppd file if I set up a printer as postscript, so
how is it supposed to know what the printer can do?
