[Gllug] A SATA Raid card worth having?

On a slightly related note, we just bought one of these machines:

http://www.supermicro.com/Aplus/system/1U/1020/AS-1020A-T.cfm

Unfortunately the SATA controller in it is marked "HIGHLY
EXPERIMENTAL" in the kernel, and what's more Debian doesn't even have
the experimental driver on its install CD, so I'm looking to buy a
SATA controller to go in the space PCI slot.

Can anyone recommend one? We're primarily interested in stability
under Linux, rather than performance.

The Debian install CD has the following SATA drivers:

./lib/modules/2.6.12-1-amd64-generic/kernel/drivers/scsi/sata_promise.ko
./lib/modules/2.6.12-1-amd64-generic/kernel/drivers/scsi/sata_nv.ko
./lib/modules/2.6.12-1-amd64-generic/kernel/drivers/scsi/sata_qstor.ko
./lib/modules/2.6.12-1-amd64-generic/kernel/drivers/scsi/sata_sil.ko
./lib/modules/2.6.12-1-amd64-generic/kernel/drivers/scsi/sata_sis.ko
./lib/modules/2.6.12-1-amd64-generic/kernel/drivers/scsi/sata_svw.ko
./lib/modules/2.6.12-1-amd64-generic/kernel/drivers/scsi/sata_sx4.ko
./lib/modules/2.6.12-1-amd64-generic/kernel/drivers/scsi/sata_uli.ko
./lib/modules/2.6.12-1-amd64-generic/kernel/drivers/scsi/sata_via.ko
./lib/modules/2.6.12-1-amd64-generic/kernel/drivers/scsi/sata_vsc.ko

but most of these seem to be motherboard SATA.

Rich.
