Yes I am not running a mail server, & as per your advise I did this

root at magic-box:/home/jadukor# iptables -vL | grep 2525
0 0 ACCEPT tcp -- any any anywhere
anywhere tcp dpt:2525 state NEW

So what does it mean??

I tried looking in the man pages for answers but didn't find any clear
answer.

BTW this is how thing are done in the Guarddog GUI, you can configure
different zones & configure certain zone(s) to provide certain
service(s) to certain other zone(s). Serviced that not provided are
either blocked (by default) or rejected (based on you settings).

My PC is in the "local zone" & the outside world is in the "internet
zone" which is configured to provide smpt2 service; but the localzone
isn't. So do you think the settings are OK??

Thanks
Emon
