[Gllug] What is the Gnome & KDE difference??

I've always thought of a desktop environment as a set of widgets and
other utility libraries and a set of conventions that such apps should
follow, normally very much more elaborate than those embodied in the
ICCCM.

So do I. And KDE. At the same time. I've also used fvwm and GNOME
together. (Proof if proof be needed that the desktop environment and
window manager are *not* the same thing at all. All the window manager
needs to do to cooperate with GNOME or KDE is to follow the EWMH
spec...)
