Yep, read the site, and take a healthy pinch of salt with you. Joel has
some good ideas and insights, but he also comes out with tripe at times.
Application of a bit of common sense should help you sort the wheat from
the chaff.

You might also want to consider reading some of Paul Graham's essays:

Like Joel, I don't always agree with everything he writes. But there's
a fair amount of good stuff there.
