Mondo Rescue is a nice tool but more appropriate for backing up the
system rather than the data.  You can do both, but it's probably not the
best tool if you just want to back up the data.

A good tactic for allowing bare-metal recovery is to do regular data
backups and a Mondo backup of the system on (for example) a monthly
basis.
