OK Chaps! I'm only the current sysadmin/IT manager, and I wasn't sure I
had the authority from HR to post a salary - but I have asked and they
said it's OK - £30,000 is the minimum. 

This is a genuine offer, and ideally we'd like to employ before the end
of the year.

Sorry for the mixup, I hope I'm not a pariah now...
