Correction just sent to their readers' editor (editor at guardian.co.uk):

The article "What does Ubuntu really mean?" in today's G2 - 
http://www.guardian.co.uk/g2/story/0,,1883655,00.html - has a mistake in 
its description of Ubuntu and the Linux "operating system".  Linux 
itself is an operating system kernel, and when it is bundled with a 
whole load of other essentials you get an operating system, known as a 
Linux distribution.  Ubuntu is one such distribution.
