It's difficult to be sure, without knowing more about how the server is
configured. However, by default Postfix supports ~/.forward files, so
you should be able to set up vacation messages for a user by placing a
forward file in whatever is set as their "home" directory in Postfix
(possibly the top level Maildir directory, if these are virtual users).
Have the forward file pipe a copy of the message to vacation but don't
forget to deliver it locally as well.
