I was going to make some sort of pedantic comment that defenestration
strictly refers to being thrown out of a window, rather than jumping,
but, on close inspection of the image, the man may well have been
thrown by someone not visible from the viewer's angle.

Is he an allegorical figure, representing common sense, or sanity, or
something similar?
